The face of this street urchin immediately captured my attention. My sense of empathy drew me into her sadness. I felt she was finding it difficult to make sense of her life. She had needs that were not being met. This painting is a reminder to me that there are millions of children in the world who feel uncared for. We must build a better world for these young people by rectifying the inequalities and promoting fairness.
